The magic and sweetness of Christmas... in Alsace!

During Advent , the towns and villages around Haguenau will be adorned with lights and decorations , artists in their studios will put the finishing touches on their creations , and food artisans will be busy preparing Christmas treats and festive dishes . Numerous events will take place throughout the region: Christmas markets, concerts, storytelling, nativity scene exhibitions in churches…

Thus , the Alsatian Christmas tradition will continue in Val-de-Moder where the Museum of Popular Imagery will offer Christmas workshops for children focusing on making Advent wreaths or paper Christmas balls.

In Bischwiller , the Christmas village will be set up from December 5th for two weekends in the heart of the town, on the Place de la Mairie where Saint Nicholas will parade on his illuminated carriage and his procession of lanterns.

The magic will also happen in Schweighouse-sur-Moder at nightfall every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday : the Villa Park will light up and offer young and old alike an immersive stroll through luminous and sound works.

Finally, Brumath will not be left out and will invite you to discover on December 6 and 7 typical chalets and various stands of local crafts and culinary specialties , in addition to numerous activities ranging from shows to the lighting of Christmas decorations.

Christmas in Haguenau, a delicious experience

From November 21st to December 30th, 2025 , the city of Barberousse will be decked out in its festive finery! Around sixty decorated and illuminated Christmas chalets, spread across five of the city's squares, will offer authentic, handcrafted products . The city center will be adorned with a thousand colors in a magical atmosphere: Christmas in Haguenau has all the ingredients of an Alsatian Christmas, plus the added charm of a preserved, welcoming, and family-friendly destination!

The only Christmas market in northern Alsace, open every day for five weeks (except December 25th) , this market will be enlivened by numerous events including concerts , exhibitions , storytelling , and various other activities . An ideal place to meet up , share , and enjoy a mulled wine!

Inhale the heady aromas of orange and cinnamon , anise and cardamom wafting from the pots… Or sample our famous " bredele ," small Christmas shortbread cookies that come in endless varieties! While the parents enjoy their treats, the children can play on the wooden carousel … A wonderful opportunity to enjoy this magical atmosphere as a family . The perfect time to stroll from chalet to chalet and find the ideal gift to place under the tree.
