Landscapes in motion on the banks of the Rhine in Mothern

Along the Rhine, sunny weekends are rare when the banks are not occupied by walkers. It's your turn to put this outing on your agenda!

One of the possibilities is to start the walk at the level of the Rhine, where you can enjoy the attractive spectacle river navigation from the banks. From there, a 100% natural pedestrian loop is offered to you: the circuit "The banks of the Rhine" will take you along the shores to a forest with impressive trees and to farming lands.

The bravest will take the walk to the center of the town of Mothern. Curiosity to discover in the heart of the village: the mast of the boatmen, located on the place de la Wacht, and the Kabach stream.

Ideal to get off the beaten track and the busiest routes along the Rhine.

Useful information : Start by parking in the small car park (dirt road) along the Rhine, after the picnic area and the washerwomen's shelter. (Closest address: 44 route du Rhin, Mothern). Then follow the “yellow ring” markings of Club Vosgien (one loop). Distance: 6,5 km, 1 hour 15 minutes, the entire loop (without reaching the city center).

The forts along the water in Fort-Louis, Neuhaeusel and Roeschwoog

Closely linked since the construction of Fort Vauban in the 17th century, the municipalities of Fort-Louis, Neuhaeusel and Roeschwoog can be discovered thanks to a beautiful hike. If this circuit is entitled "The forts along the water", it is because it follows the Moderate over a very large part of the course.

What could be nicer in summer than being able to walk along the water? The freshness of river and the passages in forest enhance the discovery of typical landscapes for the Rhine plain. Along the route, in addition to the reed beds, white willow groves, deer, beavers and water birds ... we cross paths with two Strong whose remains are still visible today: the Fort Carré, and the Fort d'Alsace.

Fort Carré is the one for which the greatest number of remains visible, which young and old alike will enjoy exploring. Today, the interior of this fort reminds us of a large, quiet and silent arena covered with grass.

Ideal for a combination of history and nature!

Useful information : 14 km loop, yellow rectangle markings. Several suggested departures: in Fort-Louis, place de la Mairie; in Neuhaeusel, parking on rue des Roses or the village hall on rue du Rhin. A map and a detailed description are offered by the FFRandonnée Alsace on the site ignoring.

Discover a city with many facets in Drusenheim

Spend a day at hike full nature is pleasant, but when you are looking for a slightly more "urban" atmosphere, the small towns in the north of Alsace are a good compromise. Among those who deserve to be known, Drusenheim has everything of a family getaway.

Small paradise for walkers or cyclists, the city (classified as 4 Flowers by the Villes et Villages Fleuris label) offers a natural environment enjoyable as well as activities for all ages. With children, we like to spend time at the Jardins de l'Altwasser and its adjoining play area around the Le Gabion cultural space.

For the curious, the Paso museum, named after the artist, allows you to discover 700 works by this painter born in the town. Finally, for a return to nature, the La Swan ride (6,4km), or the fitness trail communal (1km), allow you to immerse yourself in the freshness of the undergrowth.

But the "highlight of the show" is to make a promenade rocked by the lapping of water on the banks of the Rhine, undoubtedly one of the most pleasant places in Drusenheim. From here, the bac will make you experience a crossing on a funny boat which allows you to change country in less than 5 minutes.

Ideal for a trip between town and nature!

Useful information : The Altwasser Gardens and the playground: around the Le Gabion cultural space, rue de Dalhunden. The Swan ride and the fitness trail: parking lot for the pétanque area, departure from the paths on stilts. Paso Museum: 2 rue du stade.
