Mont Saint-Michel in Alsace! (40km from Haguenau)

To the question "who owns the Mont Saint-Michel », Will we ever know which Breton or Norman is right? Look no further: in reality, it is in Alsace that it is located! And more specifically in the southern part of Vosges du Nord Regional Nature Park, a few minutes from Saverne.

Much more than a simple pretext to smile, this Mont has everything of a getaway to take full eyes. A climbing path but a hike accessible to the whole family, and above all, the key, a panorama which you can enjoy from the platform (called “Rond des Sorcières”) located at the top of the rocky promontory, at an altitude of 438 meters.

On the route, a stop is also necessary at the fairy or witches' cave, better known under the name of “Hexenhöhle”, or even at the Saint-Michel Chapel… So many stages and discoveries to be made along of your ascent of this important energetic place!

Ideal for a breathtaking view of the region. And to be able to impress family and friends by telling them that they “saw Mont Saint-Michel from Alsace”! Duration: approx. 3h30

Useful information : The departure is done at the Langenthal Cross, in Saint-Jean Saverne. Parking is available at the large crossroads (Mont Saint-Michel forest road). Type "Langenthal Cross" on Google Maps! Distance to hike: 8,5 km.
