Anecdotes and secrets in the land of glass magicians

What if we told you that Wingen-sur-Moder, a meeting with the inhabitants and the glassmakers is possible in the middle of the forest? This is what the (free) "Hanau-La Petite Pierre" application offers, accompanying you on many circuits including that of glassmakers trail.

Are you allergic to digital? Don't panic: it is also a pleasure to walk these paths with your hands free, in the heart of this fascinating territory whose treasures inspire the region's glassworkers. But the application allows access to a story shared by the inhabitants for a fun discovery between anecdotes, testimonials and little secrets.

At the bend of the paths, you can also see the elegant Villa Lalique which stands out at the edge of the forest as well as the old Hochberg glassware ... Let yourself be surprised and discover the history of glassmakers (and meet the Highland cows, stars of the valleys that came straight from Scotland).

Useful information : Ideal for those who wish to combine hiking and culture (with a touch of digital), for a half day.

The glassmakers' path is an 8 km loop that starts at the Lalique museum in Wingen-sur-Moder (easy access by train, Wingen-sur-Moder station, 45 minutes from Strasbourg). A sound tour is available on the Hanau-La Petite Pierre app and on the website.

We recommend that you take a walk in the gardens and, why not, have a drink in the old glassmaker's house, which has been converted into a restaurant next to the museum in order to enjoy the view of the forest. Link to website or Lalique museum.
