Bitschhoffen is a town located in the historical and cultural region of North Alsace. Bitschhoffen is located one kilometer north of Pfaffenhoffen and Niedermodern, 13 kilometers from Haguenau, north of the Moder river. Bitschhoffen was at the time of the Holy Empire an imperial village, it depended directly on the emperor. During the conquest of Alsace by France, the village became a royal village. The commune of La Walck was an annex of Bitschhoffen until the middle of the XNUMXth century. The traditional costume of the inhabitants of Bitschhoffen differs from the traditional Alsatian costume by the fabric of the headdress, the latter recalling Scottish motifs. Bitschhoffen has a church, the Church of Saint-Maurice.
