The old Pfaffenhoffen synagogue is one of the rare synagogues built in Alsace in 1791, under the Ancien Régime, which is still preserved. Classified as a historic monument, it has benefited from major restoration work.
It is both a place of worship and a community center having served as a school, accommodation center, kitchen, and Mikwe” (ritual bath).

In its simplicity and its sobriety, both exterior and interior, the old synagogue of Pfaffenhoffen is the typical example of a rural synagogue of the XNUMXth century.
