The Tourist Office provides free audio guides (in French, German and English) as well as a playful version reserved for children with Becki the stork.
The audio guide allows you to visit the city in complete freedom and at your own pace. Enjoy a guided walk that will give you plenty of time to soak up the atmosphere of the city center!
About thirty buildings are presented throughout the circuit which mentions the origin of the city, where Frédéric le Borgne, father of Frédéric Barberousse, built a castle on the island of Moder, on the site of the current Maison de retirement. It was in the shadow of this "Burg" that Haguenau was born and developed. The Chancellery, the Old Customs House, the imposing Historical Museum or the Italian-style Municipal Theater are presented to you during the visit.
Further north of the city, the Saint-Nicolas district and its 14th century Gothic church with the city gate towers, the old prison or the Halle aux Houblons are all buildings that bear witness to the city's past.
The monuments are listed and numbered on the ground, which leaves the visitor the care to evolve at his own pace and at his leisure using his audio guide.
The audioguides can be picked up at the reception of the Tourist Office, in the city center of Haguenau.
