Wahlenheim is a small flowered Alsatian town located north of Strasbourg. This town is located in the historical and cultural region of Alsace where you can notably discover the Church dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Inside, the nave is separated from the choir by a semi-circular diaphragm arch. On the walls of the nave, we see the statues of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, Saint Aloyse, a pretty Sacred Heart of Jesus and Saint Anthony. But the most beautiful attribute of the church is the high altar of the Pieta built in oak and gilded in 1741 in the church of the priory of guillemites of Marienthal, then served by the Jesuits. It was offered in 1781 to the parish of Wahlenheim by Canon Barthle and installed in 1782.
