BR28 From the country of Hanau to the Northern Vosges
Val de Moder
To the west of the Outer Forest, the Pays de Hanau offers a succession of gentle heights. From Pfaffenhoffen to Zinswiller, the road crosses a hilly landscape. It then runs along the foothills of the Northern Vosges to enter after Ingwiller in the pretty Mittelbach valley. At the end of a few bends through the forest, the end of this valley leads to La Petite Pierre, a village clinging to a rocky promontory. The route continues in the open towards the west on the edge of the Lorraine plateau before plunging into the long valley of the Zinsel bordered by pink sandstone. It leads to Neuwiller-les-Saverne then to the foot of the Bastberg, the final stage before returning to Pfaffenhoffen.
