Location and access
A first building dedicated to Protestant worship was built in 1859/1860, when there were very few Protestants in Haguenau. Today it is the home of the parish. After the war of 1870/71, the city saw its garrison increase by several thousand soldiers mainly from Prussia, of the Lutheran faith. The military administration then had the military architect Hertlein build a new building, much larger, in neo-Gothic style. After 1918, this building was given to the Protestant parish free of charge.
