The ornithological observatory was created in 2011 by the ONF and the City as part of the International Year of the Forest. Located at the level of a former clay extraction quarry for the manufacture of ceramics, the site was renatured at the end of the operation. Part of the site, resulting from the underwater extraction of clay, has been maintained as a body of water.
This space is now conducive to the observation of nature, many birds are present: herons, water hens, ducks and for the most attentive and early morning, kingfishers and great crested grebes...
