Built between 1900 and 1905 in a neo-renaissance style, the museum houses collections that bear witness to the history of the city and its nearby region from prehistoric times to modern times. A rich archaeological collection from the Bronze and Iron Age tells us about a culture that has flourished in the Haguenau forest. It was supplemented by the Gallo-Roman period with exceptional objects such as the helmet of the Roman legionnaire. Several rooms are dedicated to the history of the city since its foundation in the XNUMXth century.
The museum also has a fine collection of Hannong earthenware, art nouveau and art deco glasses.
