FOCUS / Company 1 of Si

An artist associated with POLE-SUD Strasbourg, Etienne Rochefort develops his own choreographic language by drawing on hip hop dance that he combines with other influences (graphic arts, circus, cinema and even rock music).

After meeting 5 young dancers from Strasbourg during a workshop, the choreographer asked them to create a professional show, accompanied by two dancers from the company 1 des Si. Although built on different disciplines (popping, krump, voguing, etc.), FOCUS draws on their personal stories and their singularities to make them unique. This research work, which touches on the intimate and the emotional, is accompanied by another challenge, that of sharing and the collective, to show how each of these differences can feed a common project.
