Exhibition - From Shadow to Light: The City's Fine Arts

"From Shadow to Light: The Fine Arts of the City" the new temporary exhibition of the City of Bischwiller offers a plunge into the heart of the local artistic heritage.
This exhibition brings together marquetry and heraldic works by Henri Baumer (1876-1968), engravings, and paintings by Philippe Steinmetz (1900-1987) and Paul Weiss (1896-1961), complemented by creations from some of their friends. Landscapes, portraits, scenes of daily life, and decorative pieces comprise a diverse collection, reflecting the richness of artistic sensibilities and craftsmanship of the period.
Conceived as a time for (re)discovery, the exhibition offers a fresh perspective on this heritage and highlights the role of these artists in shaping Bischwiller's cultural identity. It also reflects the City's commitment to promoting and sharing its collections with the widest possible audience.
This exhibition is accessible free of charge from April 11 to December 13 at the Maison des Arts on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 14pm to 18pm.
