Gregory Ott

Grégory Ott's solo piano project is a musical evocation of Wim Wenders' 1987 Franco-German film Wings of Desire. An allegory on the quest for freedom and a questioning of temporality and the passing of time, this cinematic masterpiece profoundly affected the pianist during his adolescence. As he approached his fifties, he wanted to compose a very personal interpretation, driven by the desire to tell his own story, to express his own feelings and emotions. He thus worked in depth on the sound and visual textures inspired by the film, while giving pride of place to improvisation.
