Optimist Ecology Meetings

The 2024 Optimistic Ecology Meetings offer a program around the theme of biodiversity: exhibition, screenings, conferences, workshops, shows and even debates. A set of activities for young and old to understand current issues and learn while having fun!

Wednesday May 29 from 14 p.m. to 19 p.m., Mégarex: film meeting
• 14 p.m.: Screening of the film “Brothers of the Trees”
• 16 p.m.: Meeting with Papuan chef Mundiya Kepanga + feather adornment workshop
• 17:30 p.m.: Screening of the film “Guardians of the forest, time for solutions”

Thursday May 30 from 18 p.m. to 20:30 p.m., Paddock Academy: “Business & biodiversity” afterwork
• Presentation by the OFB (French Office for Biodiversity)
• Collaborative workshops
• Testimonials from Siemens and the Haguenau Hospital Center

Friday May 31 from 17 p.m. to 20 p.m., Shared Gardens Site Saint-Georges: open days of the school vegetable garden.
• 17 p.m.: Workshop “Perennial vegetables, forgotten vegetables”
• 18:30 p.m.: Conference “Soil biodiversity”
• From 17 p.m. to 20 p.m.: Workshops for children, information stands, light meals.

Saturday June 1st from 12 p.m. to 18 p.m., Square Vieille-Île: alive, together!
• The Great Story “The formation of soils”: participatory workshop with the association “Les beaux wastes”
• Tinker with plants (workshop for children)
• Scientific workshops with Little Resourcefuls
• Discovery of edible plants with the Protection Faune Flore association
• Outing in the Forêt d’Exception® (registration required): On the trail of remarkable trees – bike ride
• Let’s decorate with plants (workshop for adults upon registration)
• Exhibition of tree cuttings from the Strasbourg Botanical Garden: discover local species up close!
• Wandering messengers of Mother Nature: receive a seed bomb by writing down a message in Nature's Golden Book!
• Urban treetop adventure course
• “Brut de critters” rides: encounters with colorful critters on wheels!
